One of the most exciting new developments surrounding the upcoming Emerald Coast Blue Marlin Classic is the recent news that this increasingly prestigious event was chosen as one of the exclusive sportfishing tournaments in the 2006 "MTU Legend Series." In appreciation of avid anglers worldwide who demand powerful engine performance, MTU reintroduced the Legend Series, a season-long event open to anyone whose boat is powered by an MTU or Detroit Diesel engine. Entrants to the sport fishing tournament can earn points by participating in the tournaments in the Series. A grand prize will be awarded to the boat that accumulates the most points during the season. According to MTU, when they invited fishing tournaments to participate in the Legend Series, only the best of the best were considered.
